The Bigger Picture

Very cool article about the 'bigger picture' and student-athlete performance on the field and in the community. Virginia Tech is one of the few colleges that has a full-time sport psychologist on board and it's paying off. The student- athlete has redefined the meaning of failure and has used it as fuel to perform at a higher rate.

It is amazing that more schools don't utilize a full-time sport psychologist. It seems like the effects both on and off the field are significant enough that everyone should put more of a focus on sport psychology. It seems like the effects both on and off the field are significant enough that everyone should put more of a focus on sport psychology. I like the idea brought up in this article that says that there are important lessons to be learned from sports that can affect us outside of an athletic context in the professional world. Self-esteem and work ethic are invaluable traits that can be gained from participating in sports. 10-07-2014 10:10am
